Is La Rosa de Guadalupe catching up with modern chisme? On September 4, the popular drama series released a new episode called “Fan De Su Relación” seemingly echoing the happenings of the love triangle between Mexican newlyweds Christian Nodal and Ángela Aguilar, and his former partner Cazzu.

In the new episode, the Nodal-like character “Tristán” and Aguilar’s alleged character “Angélica” can’t be together because Angélica is underage. Angélica’s father is strict and doesn’t let her date or go out. Therefore, Tristán ends up getting with Angélica’s friend Juli (coincidentally, Cazzu’s real name is Julieta Emilia Cazzuchelli), who publicizes their new relationship in a social media post. That’s when Angélica comments “Fan de su relación” on their couple photo. Sound familiar?

Throughout the episode, some scenes echo the real-life triangle’s happenings, such as same-posed photos, Juli getting pregnant, and Angélica telling her that she’s happy she’s going to be an aunt. However, there are also differences in the storyline, including Angélica having a fake boyfriend, and finally getting together with Tristán once she turns 18.

Another difference is that when the couple gets together, there’s a major plot twist. Tristán cheats on Angélica with another mutual friend. And get this: that mutual friend also was a fan of their relationship.

Although there’s no official statement indicating that the story was inspired by Nodal, Aguilar, and Cazzu, social media users are cracking up with hilarious memes about the new episode.

 

 

 

Whether the Mexican-American songstress really commented on the now-iconic “Fan De Su Relación” phrase or not, it looks like she will forever be tied to it thanks to La Rosa De Guadalupe.
